Pregnancy Survey~ 37 weeks~ LAST ONE!!

How Far Along: 37 weeks

Size of baby: Your baby is now considered "full term," even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, her lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you're planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason to intervene earlier.) Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 31 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Yes : )

Movement: Lots of movement.  She has had hiccups quite a few times the last few days!

Pregnancy Survey~ 36 weeks

How Far Along: 36 weeks

Size of baby: Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered his body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of his first bowel movement.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 30 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement. I can see her moving from the outside.  Jason has been able to feel her moving as well.  (He never saw a bump when we had Hailey because he was deployed).  She is still breech.

 Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

What I miss:  Being able to get off the floor easily and bend over : )

Sleep: No problems sleeping!

Symptoms: Tired in the evenings and my feet are sore.

Cravings: Mexican/Chiptole and sweets

Belly button in or out? Flat : )

Wedding ring off or on? Off.  I am no longer able to wear it.

Pregnancy Survey~ 35 weeks

How Far Along: 35 weeks

Size of baby: Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that she's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon.  Because it's so snug in your womb, she isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times she kicks should remain about the same. Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete — she'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Lost count.. Just enjoying eating things I won't be able to eat for much longer : )

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement.  I hope hoping with all the moving she has been doing that she is now head down.  I go to high risk on Friday so I will know for sure then!
 Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

What I miss:  Wearing my wedding ring, sleeping comfortably, being able to reach my toes.

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good.  It's hard to get comfortable.

Symptoms: Legs and feet are really sore/swollen by the evening. TIRED!

Cravings: Mexican/Chiptole and sweets

Belly button in or out? Flat : )

Wedding ring off or on? Off.  I am no longer able to wear it.

Pregnancy Survey~ 34 weeks

How Far Along: 34 weeks

Size of baby: Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling his out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total weight gain is about 27 pounds.  I was off last week for my post.  I did gain 3 more pounds as of last week, but who is counting!

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement. She is now pressing her body parts against my belly and I can feel hard things on the outside.  I can also see her moving through my skin

Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

What I miss:  Wearing my wedding ring.

Sleep: No problems sleeping this past week.  Getting up about 1 time per night to go to the bathroom.

Symptoms: Legs and feet are really sore by the evening.  Hard to shave my legs and I am not only wear slip on shoes.

Cravings: Mexican/Chiptole and sweets

Belly button in or out? Flat : )

Wedding ring off or on? Off.  I am no longer able to wear it.

What I am looking forward to: Jason is coming HOME next week!! It has been a long 6 months.  Hailey and I are looking forward to our last few weeks of a family of 3!

Pregnancy Survery~ 33 weeks

How Far Along: 33 weeks

Size of babyThis week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. She's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and her skeleton is hardening. The bones in her skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for her to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as her brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total weight gain is about 27 pounds. I go again tomorrow so I will know an exact amount but I should be gaining about 1 pound per week.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement. She is now pressing her body parts against my belly and I can feel hard things on the outside.

Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

What I miss:  Wearing my wedding ring.

Sleep: No problems sleeping this past week.  Getting up about 1 time per night to go to the bathroom.

Symptoms: Some swelling in my feet and legs.  My legs/feet are sore in the evening (wishing Jason was home to massage my feet!)

Cravings: Mexican/Chiptole

Belly button in or out? Flat : )

Wedding ring off or on? Off.  I am no longer able to wear it.

What I am looking forward to: The weekend.

Pregnancy Survey~ 32 weeks

How Far Along: 32 weeks

Size of baby: By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total weight gain is about 25 pounds. I gained 2 pounds since my last appointment.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement. She is now pressing her body parts against my belly and I can feel hard things on the outside. She is especially active in the evenings. She is still frank breach so her feet and head are almost touching.  She is not head down yet.

Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

What I miss:  My husband : (

Sleep: Getting harder to find a comfortable position to sleep.  I have been putting a pillow between my legs and under my belly which has seemed to help.

Symptoms: Some swelling in my fingers, especially in the evenings.  Legs get tingling cramps once in a while from her hitting a nerve.

Cravings: Mexican/Chiptole

Belly button in or out? Flat : )

Wedding ring off or on? On, but I have to take them off after school.  It's been hot her and my fingers are swelling in the evening!
What I am looking forward to: Hospital tour on Wednesday.

Pregnancy Survey~ 31 weeks

How Far Along: 31 weeks

Size of baby: This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. She weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. She can turn her head from side to side, and her arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath her skin. She's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total weight gain is about 23 pounds. I go again to the doctor on Thursday so I will update with a more accurate number

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement. She is now pressing her body parts against my belly and I can feel hard things on the outside. She is especially active in the evenings.

Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

What I miss:  My husband : (

Sleep: No problems sleeping all night.  I am getting very tired in the evenings.

Symptoms: Growing belly!

Cravings: Mexican/Chiptole

 31 weeks : )
We enjoyed our time with Molly!!

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Pregnancy Survey~ 30 weeks

How Far Along: 30 weeks

Size of baby: Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she 's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total weight gain is about 22-23 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement. She is now pressing her body parts against my belly and I can feel hard things on the outside.

Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann (C-section has been moved to Friday, June 14th at 1:30.  Going in to for an amnio at 8:00 that morning. If her lungs are developed, then we will proceed with the C-section.  If not, they will wait several days and then do the C-section)

What I miss:  Nothing this week!

Sleep: Trying to get into bed around 9:30 and having no problems falling asleep or staying asleep!

Symptoms: Growing belly!

Cravings: Mexican

Belly button in or out? Flat : )

What I am looking forward to:  Molly is coming down on Thursday.

Giving her little sister kisses!

Pregnancy Survey~ 29 weeks

**C-section is scheduled for June 12th.  I am having a amniocentesis the day before to make sure that her lungs are developed.  If they are, then we go ahead with the c-section.  If they are not, then we wait 2-3 days and then do the c-section!!

How Far Along: 29 Weeks- 3rd trimester!

Size of babyYour baby now weighs about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. Her muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and her head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain. To meet her increasing nutritional demands, you'll need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because her bones are soaking up lots of calcium, be sure to drink your milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in your baby's hardening skeleton each day.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total weight gain is about 22 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement.  She is especially active in the evenings when I lay down to watch TV and rest.  Also, after I eat a meal she becomes more active!

Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

What I miss:  Diet Coke

Sleep: Great!  I have been feeling extra tired this past week.

Symptoms: Feet are sore in the evenings.  Swollen fingers and ankles.

Pregnancy Survey~ 28 weeks

**Ultrasound last week went great.  Olivia is measuring right on schedule! My placenta and my fluid levels are all great!! She is frank breech at this point but that does not really matter because we are having a c-section.  I go back again in 4 weeks!
How Far Along: 28 Weeks-  3rd trimester!

Size of baby: This week, your baby weighs almost 2.2 pounds (like a head of iceberg lettuce) and is about 14.8 inches long with her legs extended.  Her brain is now developing and its folds and grooves.  She continues to add layers of fat to her body.  Her muscle tone is also improving which means increased movement, which might wake you at night.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total weight gain is about 20 pounds. I go to the doctor again next Monday so I will find out how much I have gained.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement.  I am starting to figure out her awake/sleep schedule!  Feeling her kicks on the outside now!

Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

How Far Along: 27 Weeks- almost in the 3rd trimester!

Size of baby: This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now.

Pregnancy Survey~ 26 weeks

How Far Along: 26 Weeks

Size of baby: The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. She may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. She's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of her lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when she's born and takes that first gulp of air. And she's continuing to put on baby fat. She now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Total weight gain is about 19ish pounds. (just guessing)

Pregnancy Survey~ 25 weeks

How Far Along: 25 Weeks. Only 15 more to go (wow! that's crazy).

Size of baby: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Total weight gain is about 17-18 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Pregnancy Survey~ 24 weeks

How Far Along: We are now 24 weeks pregnant! Time is flying.

Size of baby: Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), s he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Total Weight Gain/Loss:  Total weight gain is about 17-18 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement, feeling her all throughout the day!  This past week she has been quite active in the middle of the night

Gender: Baby GIRL-- Olivia Ann

Pregnancy Survey~ 23 weeks

How Far Along: 23 weeks

Size of baby: Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing his for entry into the outside world.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I gained 1 pound since my last doctor appointment.  Hailey and I celebrated with ice cream tonight!  Total weight gain is about 17 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yes

Movement: Lots of movement, feeling her all throughout the day!  Friday, I was actually able to feel the movement on the outside!!

How Far Along: 22 weeks

Pregnancy Survey~ 20 weeks!

How Far Along: 20 weeks

Size of baby: Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).
