Hailey has not "cut" her first tooth but she is trying really hard. She chews on anything she can get her mouth on! This "cool" teething ring is the best!!
What a great day we had! We went for a family walk this morning, then out for breakfast at Beach Diner, delicious! Talked to Grandpa and Grandma Nelson as well as Great Grandpa and Grandma Flicker (Juanita too!) on Skype. Then, after her afternoon nap, we sunscreened her up, got her swimming suit on and put her in the kiddie pool in the backyard for the first time. She was skeptical at first, but once she got used to it, she was loving it!! Later in the evening we went for another family walk and then grilled out for dinner! It was a perfect Mother's Day!!
On a different note:
We decided not to put a diaper on her because she only poops once every 4-5 days and she just pooped on Saturday so I THOUGHT it would be okay. Plus, I knew we would only be in the pool for a short time and what were the chances?? Well, apparently the chances were GREAT!!
I wanted to wash the sunscreen off her before we took her inside to get dressed so I took the swimsuit off while were were still in the pool and what I found, ruined the suit and made for a messy clean-up!
Lesson learned: BUY little swimmer diapers before you put her in the pool again!!
Summer is upon us, 90+ degrees for the past three days!
We are enjoying the warm weather but we have had to move our nightly walks to about 6:30 or 7:00 when the sun is not quite so hot! We do have this nice hat to help protect us from the sun!
Hailey is now big enough to reach the bottom of the exersaucer AND she is interested in toys so we put her in it for the first time today and she LOVED it!! She kept grabbing the toys on it and tried to put them in her mouth. She even made one of the toys spin. She has not quite figured out how to turn herself but that will come with time.
Her newest tricks: she found her high pitched voice (she screeches) and learned that she can make bubbles (sticks her tongue out and blows air out!)
